Surge impulse generators above 8kV are designed for applications ranging from component testing and EMC tests through to Lightning simulation in radio antennas. Typical standard applications include IEC, ITU and ANSI for power line testing, ITU and UL for component testing and ETSI for telecommunications testing. The Haefely EMC modular systems, allow maximum flexibility in terms of changing impulse types and energy levels within a single instrument. Such large systems are microprocessor controlled and can be operated manually or via specially designed software. PSURGE 30.2 - modular, high energy surge generatorThe PSURGE 30.2 is a multi-function Impulse Generator designed, to be used for Safety, Telecom and Component testing according to IEC 61010, ITU K20 (basic & enhanced lightning current) and IEC 61643 Class I, II & III tests. Test levels can be set up to 30 kV in open circuit and 30 kA in short circuit.To protect operators from exploding EUT’s, a large test cabinet is integrated into PSURGE 30.2. Larger components can be tested in the optional PLS 360 safety integrated test housing.
