Power frequency and impulse magnetic field tests can be carried out by using standard Haefely EMC test equipment either by adding the appropriate coil antennas to your existing surge generators, or by use of stand-alone magnetic field systems.

We provide all the necessary parts that not only make up a complete magnetic field test system, but also offer users maximum flexibility. Our coil antennas come in different sizes and can be used with large EUTs, while the adjustable mechanical parts allow you to easily adjust your coil antenna to the appropriate height and angle.

Large Coil Antenna To satisfy the needs of manufacturers with test objects larger than 0.6m x 0.6m, a coil antenna is available with dimensions 2m x 2.6m.The increased antenna size means that objects up of 1.2m x 1.6m can be tested. However, because the coil antenna is still used with the MAG 100 current transformer, maximum current in the coil is 120A. This results in a magnetic field of 30A/m at coil centre. The larger coil antenna requires two stands to support it. It can still be used for both horizontal and vertical plane testing.
Automation In conjunction with other Haefely EMC products, magnetic field testing can be fully or partially automated. PLINE 1610 used together with the MAG 100 can provide semi automatic testing from the instrument front panel. A special menu MAG100 is included in the PLINE 1610 software. Voltages can be programmed which correspond to a magnetic field strength at the centre of the coil antenna. WinPATS software used to control the PLINE 1610, means that magnetic field testing can be automated with other EMC tests.
Measuring To verify magnetic field in the coil antenna, measurement of AC current using a calibrated current probe is made. Magnetic field strength within the antenna, relates to current flow. To verify magnetic field in the coil antenna directly, a portable field strength meter can be used.
