product catalogue: eft
Bursts or EFTs (electrical fast transients) are caused by operation of electro-mechanical switches, motors and distribution switch-gear connected to the power distribution network. A typical burst consists of a large number of recurring impulses at high frequency for a short time period.
PEFT 4010 A product range is available based on the PEFT 4010, offering single phase 16A, three phase 32A, three phase 100A Coupling / Decoupling Networks (CDN) or a capacitive coupling clamp. EFT impulses from 100V to 8'000V can be generated in 5 different modes including varying voltage and frequency. Applications include CE type testing to IEC and EN standards, telecommunication testing to Bellcore and ETSI standards and product development where the programming flexibility can help locate design problems. | Features - impulse voltage up to 4'500V

| IEEE 488 interface GPIB interface board for the PEFT4010 mainframe | | | |
| Fiber optic interface Fiber optic interface / RS232 converter used to connect the ESD generator PESD1610 with PEFT4010 mainframe PESD 1610 - ESD generator For more information see in the ESD (electrostatic discharge testers) product line. | | | |
| VTM 8000 - Output Voltage Multiplier PEFT 4010 has a test voltage output of 4.5kV calibrated into 50 ohms. VTM 8000 can be fitted to the High Voltage output to multiply the test voltage by a factor 2. PEFT 4010 is now a cost effective 8kV burst generator, useful for development and pre-qualification testing. | | | |
| VOS - Vertical Operation Stand When testing table-top equipment, the burst generator and the CDN must be connected to the Ground Reference Plane. For convenience, PEFT 4010 can be fitted with a Vertical Operation Stand and stood vertically next to the test table. This handy device brings the instrument front panel level with the test table, but still retains a short connection to the floor mounted Ground Reference Plane using a connection on the PEFT 4010 rear panel. | | | |
| Real Burst Additional circuit boards can be fitted to the PEFT 4010, enabling it to produce burst packets as they occur in reality, that is with simultaneously varying frequency and amplitudes. Two frequency options can be added, 5KHz and 100KHz. | | | |
| Remote Control Unit When PEFT 4010 is operated on a floor mounted Ground Reference Plane, access to the instrument front panel may not be so convenient. The Easy Control, enables use of the PEFT 4010 when the instrument front panel is not visible or inconveniently placed. | | | |
| Field Probes - Near field injection probes E and H field generation probes set. Used for development and diagnostic to generate interference fields into your test object to find sensitive areas. (powered by PEFT4010 output) | | | |
| Field Probes - Scan EM probes ("Sniffer") Set of two high sensitive probes for the detection of electric and magnetic fields. Used for product development and diagnostic. | | | |
| External Warning Lamp Connected to any generator, the additional, stand-alone widely seen warning lamp indicates clearly the status of the test equipment by red & green lights. External Emergency Stop Switch Connected to any generator, the EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH, when activated instantly discharges high voltage circuits and switches off power to the EUT. | | | |
| Measurement Attenuators To verify the EFT impulse characteristics, matching attenuators are required to be fitted between the High Voltage output and a measuring system. Both 50Ohm and 1kOhm attenuators are available. To verify impulses at the CDN output, a special adapter can be used with the attenuators. | |
Verification Adaptor To verify and measure the PEFT4010 output wave shape. Adaptor from SCHUKO connector to high voltage BNC connectors. Used together with the measurement attenuators. Optical DEC95 - Optical link for RS232 10m optical link cable for RS232 connection of the PEFT 4010 to an external PC. Complete electrical decoupling to prevent external disturbances or coupling into the PC.
