As a supplier of high voltage test equipment, Haefely Test AG has a reputation for quality and reliability based on an extensive product range and vast experience gained over many years. Currently 96 people are employed in Switzerland.

Haefely Test AG is part of the Special Technologies Platform of Hubbell Inc., an international company in the field of technologies to generate, transmit and utilize electrical energy. With approx. $ 2 billion in annual revenues, Hubbell Inc. operates manufacturing facilities worldwide.

history

Founded in 1903 by Emile Haefely, the present day company, Haefely Test AG, has it's headquarter in Basel - Switzerland. An ISO 9001 accredited quality supplier, Haefely manufacture impulse generators and high voltage measurement equipment.
EMC at Haefely has a 25 year history which started with power relay test systems which use a hybrid of high voltage and EMC technology.
From this point on, the EMC department within Haefely has developed a complete range of test equipment to meet current and future requirements. The story does not end here, the EMC department, as it is now known, has a highly qualified team of engineering professionals developing ideas which will become the next generation of EMC equipment.

Made in Switzerland is not just lip service for us. All EMC test equipment is manufacured in Switzerland to exacting Swiss craftsmanship standards. Unlike our competitors, Haefely EMC does not outsource manufacturing to other countries. This clearly expresses our pledge to Swiss Quality to provide premium products at a very competitive price.
Image is the result of quality, innovation, and tradition. In our present day and age it is the essential foundation for the lasting, ongoing success of a brand. Our image not only confirms our identity, but also gives Haefely EMC Technology a significant edge against the competition.

Principally the name Haefely EMC Technology stands for "Made in Switzerland". But as a global player, Haefely EMC Technology keeps the world very much in its sights. Globalisation is no buzz word at Haefely EMC Technology, rather part of our strategy, to seek out new market opportunities. This provides a stable base and increases customer satisfaction.

Less is sometimes more
When other companies must downsize to increase their flexibility, Haefely EMC Technology has already made this transition. 1986	1986 Introduction of the first modular surge generator with exchangeable wave shape modules for testing up to 7kV (PC6-288).
1987	The first fully remote controlled (RS232 & fiber optical link) simulators.
1988	The first 7kV surge generator with semiconductor high voltage (thyristor) discharge switch. (PC7-490)
1989	The first modular telecom surge test system.
1990	The first fully compact simulator for mains, voltage dips and interrupts, harmonics and frequency variations. (LFP 6)
1991	The first fully electronic burst simulator for up to 8kV / 1MHz. (PEFT)
1992	The first (and still the only) fully uP controlled, rack mounted, modular 30kV surge generator. (PSURGE 30.1)
1993	The first 7kV all-in-one coupling/decoupling network for telecommunications standards (IEC 1000-4-5, ITU/CCITT, FTZ 12TR, FCC p.68). (IP6.2)
1994	The first fully automated 3 phase EFT and surge coupling/decoupling networks for up to 32A / 690V. (FPEFT/SURGE 32)
1995	The new generation of controllers with uniform user interface based on integrated PC104 standard 386 PC boards.
1996	The first fully integrated and fully compliant (IEC 1000-4-11) dips and variation simulator. (PLINE 1610)
1997	The first burst generator with true real burst (frequency decreases while voltage increases) up to 2MHz, and 12kHz continuous burst output. (PEFT 4010)
1998	The first fully automated single port coupling/decoupling network for EFT, surge AND dips testing.
1999	The first system with true Plug&Play technology. The fully modular Surge Platform System up to 8kV with the innovative HAEFELY BUS and HV DC BUS . (Surge Platform)
2000	The new generation of fully compliant, integrated and automated FCC part 68 and Bellcore 1089 test system with the all new WinFEAT&R control and reporting software.
2001	An all new ITU and IEC 4 wire telecommunications coupler with fully automated coupling component selection.
2002	The all new 20kV / 10kA high energy surge generator system for e.g. UL 1449 applications.
2003	The new 15kV discharge safety tester for UL 1414 and IEC 60065 applications.
2004	Eddition 2 compliance for PEFT 4010 and accessories, New PIM200 current impulse module for SPD testing
